The M3NIR project was featured at Hablemos de Chips, a key industry event in Barcelona dedicated to advancing chips, semiconductors, and microelectronics for industrial applications. Organised by secpho in collaboration with the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM, CSIC), the event brought together researchers, industry leaders, and technology developers exploring the next generation of micro- and nanoscale innovation.
Our partners from VLC Photonics (Hitachi Group) delivered a presentation titled “Advancing Health Care with Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs)”, highlighting how photonics is transforming the future of medical technologies. The talk illustrated how M3NIR contributes to this transformation, developing mid-IR and near-IR photonic sensing platforms that enable compact, non-invasive diagnostic solutions.
By demonstrating how PIC-based sensing can enhance healthcare, environmental monitoring, and industrial processes, the event underscored the growing relevance of photonics across multiple sectors.
We extend our thanks to secpho for hosting this valuable forum and to VLC Photonics for their excellent representation of M3NIR. Exciting developments lie ahead as photonic technologies continue to drive innovation in healthcare, industry, and society.
