Highlights from the M3NIR 8th General Meeting in Chania, Crete

April 29–30, 2025

The M3NIR consortium gathered in Chania, Crete, for the 8th General Meeting (GM8), hosted by ALTUS. Held on April 29–30, 2025, the meeting brought together partners from across Europe to review progress, coordinate upcoming activities, and prepare for key milestones in the months ahead.

Over two days, participants engaged in focused discussions across project management, technical development, and integration work. Sessions covered ongoing advancements in mid-IR laser module design, fabrication of structural components, and the stepwise integration of M3NIR devices across all three use cases. These exchanges ensured alignment across work packages and helped refine the next steps toward delivering a fully modular, high-performance sensing platform.

The agenda also included important strategic topics, such as feedback to the Interim Review Meeting Report and updates on dissemination, communication, and exploitation activities. The dedicated WP6 session provided space to review ongoing actions and plan for upcoming communication outputs, business modelling work, and IPR management.

A highlight of GM8 was the drone demonstration hosted by ALTUS, showcasing how advanced sensing systems and aerial technologies can complement future deployment scenarios. The demonstration offered valuable insights into practical application contexts relevant to the project’s long-term vision. The consortium extends its appreciation to all participants for their contributions and to ALTUS for the excellent organization and warm hospitality in Chania. As M3NIR moves toward the next phase of development, the collaborative efforts demonstrated during this meeting continue to drive the project forward.
